  • Do you accept FSA and HSA cards?
To use your FSA/HSA card for checkout, please choose the PayPal checkout option. If for any reason this fails, you can pay with a standard card and I can send you a medical receipt to submit to your FSA/HSA for reimbursement.
  • Do you accept insurance?
I primarily operate as a self-pay/cash-based practice, but as of April 1st, I also accept Medicare through a third-party called Luna (only available to SF residents). Medicare patients, please use the contact page to book. All others, please use the book online feature. For those paying out of pocket, I can provide you with a super bill for you to submit to your insurance company if you'd like to ask for reimbursement. My decision to be a majority self-pay practice comes from my strong intention of avoiding restrictions that insurance companies impose on patient care. There are a multitude of benefits that come with the cash-based model, including: - 60 minute, 1:1 sessions with me (and only me). I'm not bogged down by mountains of documentation that come with insurance-based care, and I can look you in the eyes when we're together, getting to the root of your problem without a keyboard between us. - No physical therapy aides or time wasted lying on an ice pack - I can treat your body as a whole, understanding that everything is connected. Unlike insurance-based care, where I would be forced to focus on one body part at a time. - Many patients save money in the long-term. I have ample time and energy to treat your concerns and get to the root of the problem. At insurance based practices, you may see a variety of PTs, assistants, and aides for 2-3 times per week for 12 weeks. At many clinics, your provider will likely be seeing you for only 30 minutes or treating more than one patient at the same time. I pledge to stay focused, honest, and ensure that you only pay for what you need or want. Many patients need only 6-8 visits with the cash-based model.
  • Who do you treat?
For pelvic health impairments, I only treat adults with vaginal anatomies. For orthopedic injuries, I can treat any adults.
  • Why can't I just do kegels?
Pelvic floor physio is so much more than kegels, and kegels can actually cause you more trouble if they are not appropriate for your condition. Honestly, most of my patients initially need relaxation techniques rather than strengthening techniques like kegels. Strengthening an already strong and tight pelvic floor could (and will likely) make your problem worse! Customized treatment following an assessment of you and your body is evidenced based, efficient, and safer. Furthermore, studies have shown that over 50% of women performing kegels on their own were performing them incorrectly, and were actually pushing down and out, rather than pulling up and in!
  • What about other injuries?
I primarily market myself as a pelvic floor PT, as this is my niche. However, I also keep about 25% of my schedule open for orthopedic injuries. I have years of experience treating general orthopedics and appreciate the variety it brings to my week!
  • How many visits will I need?
This vastly depends on you, your body, and your symptoms. Pelvic floor physiotherapy is a hugely varied specialization. Most patients need as little as 6 visits. I focus on the source of your symptoms during our sessions and provide education for self-treatment outside of sessions as much as possible. Some examples of techniques I might teach you include: cesarean section scar massage, pelvic floor relaxation techniques using specialized tools, cupping, breath work, and many other components of an independent home program.
